Farmingville Rocks!

What a terrific sight -over 20 kids circling the big old tree at Farmingville Hills Park – in full yoga pose! A special thank you to Mary Beth Dark from Yoga for Everyone in Farmingville!  Mary Beth engaged both adults and small children with several fun yoga poses, adding some cool sound effects to keep the children entertained!  It was another beautiful, fun night for families at Farmingville Hills Park! And the kids definitely enjoyed the pizza and ices afterwards!

This Saturday, July 31 at 8:30AM, we are doing our Historic Schoolhouse clean-up to get ready for the Aug 22nd Community Day.   If you would like to help with this clean-up, please come down to the Schoolhouse Saturday morning. And mark your calendars for Aug. 22, from 12-5PM!

Our next Farmingville Hills event is on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 6:30PM.  We will be doing Poi Arts with the kids!  This will be a great night for kids to make some colorful art and enjoy some music to go along with it.  Please pass on this blog post to your friends and family to sign-up and join the fun!  Check out these terrific pictures below – more pictures will be added to our website slideshow shortly!

It is supposed to be a beautiful evening!  Join us tonight at 6:30PM for Yoga with Mary Beth Dark at Farmingville Hills County Park.  Bring a towel or blanket to sit on.  Everyone is welcome so please spread the word, and let’s fill the park tonight!  Don’t forget about the free Village Pizza and Ralph’s Italian Ices for kids right after!

Thank you to the volunteers who came out to help clean-up the Farmingville Hills Park and trails this past Sunday!  It was hot but we did a terrific job.  This Saturday, July 31 at 8:30AM, is our Schoolhouse clean-up – so let us know if you can join us!

Last night was so much fun & some great exercise.  Parents and kids learned how to zumba with Bobbi Ann. Check out some pictures below. Join us this Tuesday, July 20th for our 2nd Kid’s Event at Farmingville Hills County Park!  This Tuesday Bobbi Ann will introduce the kids to some ZUMBA in the park!  Parents are welcome to try it out also.  For kids who don’t want to zumba, come down to the park anyway and let the kids run around and play with other local kids!  Afterwards, kids get stamped and enjoy a free slice of pizza at Village Pizza and small ice at Ralph’s Italian Ices!

The weather cleared and held out for our very first Farmingville Hills event.  A special thank you to Mrs. Fiore & Mrs. DeLorenzo for engaging the kids in some great stories.  And the kids loved Mrs. Fiore’s puppets!  One student, Tanay Karnik,  had the opportunity to  read to the other kids!  Afterwards, the kids had a blast running around the field, enjoyed some free pizza and topped off the warm evening with a ‘cool’  italian ice! Sachem Patch covered the event so look out for their story. Hope you can join us for Zumba next Tuesday, July 20th at 6:30PM!

Quick Update:  Regardless of weather, we will be at the Park to stamp the kids for their free pizza and ices!  So come on down either way!

Get ready for our first storytelling event with Mrs. Fiore & Mrs. DeLorenzo.  They have their books ready and can’t wait to read to the kids!  Don’t forget to bring your towel or blanket to sit on.  And then enjoy some free pizza and ices afterwards!

And yes, there is a SLIGHT chance of showers — but we are hoping for the best!  Check the site for any updates but we will most likely wait til the last minute to postpone or cancel.  And for anyone who shows up, you will definitely get stamped for your free pizza and ices!  See everyone later!

• August 17: A Treasure Trove of Tales: The art of storytelling with songs & rhymes hosted by Sachem Public Library.

Afterwards, kids who attend the events will get 1(one) FREE slice of pizza at Village Pizza (400 Horseblock Road, Farmingville) and 1(one) FREE kid’s Italian Ice or Ice Cream at Ralph’s Famous Ices (623 Horseblock Road, Farmingville). (1 per child, per event).
