A special thank you to all of our sponsors and many dedicated volunteers – Leukemia Lymphoma Society, TD Bank, Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce, Executives in Action, JLC Landscape, Design & Build, Whole Foods Market, and Sagamore & Sachem East Students.  Also a special shout out to the 6th Precinct COPE unit (Sergeant DeMeo & team), Brookhaven Councilwoman Connie Kepert’s Office, and Farmingville and Holtsville EMS!  We had great weather and a fantastic, organized & cooperative team!  THANK YOU for setting a great precedent for future races & events in Farmingville!  Check out the mini slide-show below. Guess What’s Going On in Farmingville?

#1:  We’re launching a local Farmer’s Market right here in Farmingville!!  Every Saturday from 7AM-12Noon, beginning June 4th – October 29, 2011, there will be a Farmingville Farmer’s Market, located in the KK Athletics Parking Lot (location to be confirmed shortly).  At the launch on June 4th, we will have local music by Vinny Hoffer, Scutches,  and Poi Arts by Susan Blacklocke.

#2:  Are you a local business owner, non-profit, association or resident?  Then you should consider joining the new Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce. The first meeting is on March 2, 2011 at 6:30PM at the Flaming Hearth.  Click here for more information.

#3:  Are you ready to conquer the hills of Farmingville?  Come walk or run with us at the Conquer the Hills 5K on Saturday, March 19 at 8AM to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This is a first-time event for our community – let’s make it a great success!  We are looking for runners, walkers, volunteers, and sponsors. Conquer the Hills 5K Run Walk

#4:  The Town of Brookhaven has adopted an Anti-Graffiti Campaign and our own Farmingville residents have taken the lead on this charge.  We are launching an art mural campaign and are looking to create a mural within the downtown area.  We want to engage the skills of our local young artists.  So let us know if you want to be involved!  More information to follow shortly!

$5:  Our 2011 Summer Fun Series for Kids is in the works…more zumba and fun for kids is coming in July and August!

Thank you to EVERYONE who participated and attended our very first Community Day at Farmingville Hills Park & the Historic Schoolhouse.  And yes, we finally saw the inside of the little white Schoolhouse!  What a great day for learning, outdoor activities and old-fashioned family fun!  Hope you can join us for future events!  Here are some pictures from the day!

Bring the kids down to Farmingville Hills Park on Tuesday, August 10th at 6:30PM for some Poi Arts with Susan Blacklocke!  And if you are not sure what Poi is…come down with the kids and check it out!

Don’t forget to get the kids stamped and enjoy a free slice of Village Pizza & a free Ralph’s italian ice.  Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, August 10 at 6:30PM!
